What is Soulja Boy’s net worth?
With a net worth of $5 million, Soulja Boy, an American rapper, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur, gained fame after releasing his debut single in 2007. The track “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” became a huge success, sparking a dance phenomenon and reaching the top of the charts for seven non-consecutive weeks starting in September 2007 in the United States.
Although Soulja Boy’s follow-up albums, including “iSouljaBoyTellem” (2008) and “The DeAndre Way” (2010), did not match the commercial success of his first hit, they featured some notable songs. He continued to be acknowledged for his catchy hooks as well as his self-produced beats, which helped him maintain a significant presence on music charts.
Beyond music, Soulja Boy explored various business ventures, delving into fashion and technology. He established his own clothing line and utilized digital and social media platforms to enhance his music and personal branding.

$55 Million Private Jet
In 2011, it was reported by Soulja Boy’s management that he acquired a Gulfstream G5 private jet for $55 million, celebrating his 21st birthday. The purchase included $35 million for the jet itself and an additional $20 million for upgrades, which reportedly featured custom Italian leather seats, multiple liquor bars, several flat-screen TVs, as well as new bathrooms, floors, and cabinets. However, a representative for Soulja subsequently clarified in interviews that these “elaborate rumors” were “not true.”
$400 Million Contract
Soulja Boy stated in May 2016 that he had signed a $400 million record contract, expressing his belief that he was “thinking 2 or 3 billion.” Upon examining the details of his agreement, it was found that he inked a deal with World Poker Fund Holdings to promote an online game named CelebrityWorld.com, designed for players to interact with their beloved celebrities through games. This platform merges a social network with an online casino, offering slots, blackjack, and poker. When questioned about the supposed $400 million deal, a spokesperson from World Poker Fund Holdings clarified that:
“He really kind of jumped the gun by using the $400 million figure. The deal is capped at $400 million and is based on a prospective valuation of the company. He’s young, only 25 years old. He got really excited and tweeted something he probably shouldn’t have. With pressures from the entertainment community, he wanted to make a statement. Clearly, the company’s market cap is $51.8 million; there’s no way we could secure a $400 million deal. Endorsement agreements look at numerous factors. This is not a complete cash transaction.”
Early Life & Career
Born DeAndre Cortez Way on July 28, 1990, in Chicago, Illinois, Soulja Boy…At the age of six, he relocated with his family to Atlanta, Georgia, where his interest in rap music began to develop. By the time he turned 14, he moved to Batesville, Mississippi. To foster his musical talents, his father established a recording studio in their home. In November 2005, Soulja Boy shared his songs on SoundClick, receiving positive feedback that led him to create accounts on YouTube and MySpace.
In March 2007, he produced “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” and launched his first independent album, “Unsigned and Still Major: Da Album Before da Album.” He also created a budget-friendly video to present the “Crank That” dance. By late May 2007, “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” was being played on the radio, resulting in a deal with Interscope Records. By September 2007, the song had topped the Billboard Hot 100, holding that position for seven weeks straight. The hit also earned him a Grammy nomination.
His debut major-label album, “Souljaboytellem.com,” was released in October 2007, hitting number four on the U.S. Billboard 200 and later receiving platinum certification from the RIAA. Fourteen months later, he followed up with the album “¡SouljaBoyTellem.”
In 2010, he launched his third studio album, “The DeAndre Way,” and followed it up with “Loyalty,” released in 2015. Soulja Boy has worked with numerous hip-hop artists, including Gucci Mane, Sammie, Shawty Lo, and Arab. Initially set for a 2019 release, his fifth studio album, “How Can You Blame Me,” was postponed due to his incarceration. Over the next few years, he released several mixtapes and singles, including 2021’s “Pandemic.” In February 2021, he released “Soulja World” featuring Lil B.

Record Label
In 2004, Way established his record label Stacks on Deck Entertainment (SODMG) while being signed to Interscope. He signed various artists following the label’s founding. On May 30, 2016, Way announced the termination of contracts for all artists signed to SODMG. In 2019, he reinstated Lil 100 and brought on Atlanta artist 24hr. In April 2021, Soulja Boy secured a recording deal with Virgin Music.
Controversies
In early February 2009, Soulja Boy issued a challenge to rapper Bow Wow for a race using their luxury sports cars, both of which were Lamborghinis. To intensify their dispute, Soulja Boy accused Bow Wow of driving a rented vehicle. Bow Wow later confirmed he owned his car, leading to a Twitter feud. Within days, both rappers exchanged diss tracks, with Soulja Boy releasing “F*ck Bow Wow” and Bow Wow criticizing him through “What I Think About You.” Eventually, they reconciled and in 2016, collaborated on a mixtape titled “Ignorant Shit.”
In mid-April 2013, Soulja Boy took to Facebook to make several death threats against rapper Chief Keef. He shared Keef’s phone number, urging fans to contact him and warn of his intentions, claiming to be armed. As the situation escalated, Keef informed Soulja Boy that he was in London. Soulja Boy later claimed his social media accounts and email had been hacked, denying he had sent any threatening messages.
Since then, they have reconciled their differences.

Personal Life
In June 2008, on DJ Cisco’s Urban Legend mixtape, legendary rapper Ice-T expressed his disdain for Way, instructing him to “eat a dick,” and criticized Way for “killing hip-hop,” labeling his hit “Crank That” as “garbage” compared to the works of other notable hip-hop artists such as Rakim, Das EFX, Big Daddy Kane, and Ice Cube. Following this, the two exchanged videos online. Kanye West stepped in to defend Way, suggesting that the younger artist had brought something new and original to hip-hop. This rivalry was later spoofed in a 2010 episode of The Boondocks.
On December 30, 2008, Way suffered a robbery and assault at his home. Initial news reports claimed six masked men wielding AK-47s were involved. However, a day later, a video emerged featuring two masked individuals taking full responsibility for the event. In January 2009, Soulja Boy recounted the incident to MTV News, explaining that after a late-night album release party, while recording with friends, intruders burst into his home, guns drawn. He detailed how the assailants kicked down the door and threatened one of his friends with an AK-47.
Tragically, on March 22, 2011, Way’s younger brother, Deion Jenkins, lost his life in a car accident.
In 2020, Soulja Boy chose to have all of his facial tattoos removed to pursue opportunities in film and television. He received his first facial tattoo at 16, against his mother’s wishes, and had been contemplating their removal since 2016. He expressed concerns about being typecast in roles as gangsters or drug dealers if he retained his tattoos.
In September 2022, Soulja Boy welcomed his first child, a son, with his girlfriend, Jackie.
Legal Issues
On October 7, 2009, Way was apprehended in Atlanta, Georgia, and charged with one count of obstruction, a misdemeanor, after fleeing from law enforcement during a video shoot in an abandoned house. He was released after posting a $550 bond. Additional legal troubles include weapon-related offenses, alleged threats against lives, and a rape accusation that Soulja Boy’s spokesperson dismissed.
In 2021, model Nia Riley, who is an ex-girlfriend of Soulja Boy and the daughter of singer Teddy Riley, alleged that he pointed a gun at her head when she attempted to leave him. She also accused him of kicking her in the stomach while pregnant, which she claimed resulted in a miscarriage.
InIn February 2022, Soulja Boy was named as a defendant in a class-action lawsuit against SafeMoon, a cryptocurrency company, which accused it of being a pump-and-dump scheme. Alongside other promoters like Jake Paul, Nick Carter, and Lil Yachty, he used misleading information to promote the SafeMoon token on social media.
Allegedly, in February 2019, after a party, Soulja Boy kidnapped a girlfriend at his Malibu rental, holding a gun to her head. He reportedly pistol-whipped Kayla Myers, an ex-girlfriend, and kept her for six hours. In October 2023, a court ordered Soulja Boy to pay $471,000 in damages to Kayla. To enforce this judgment, an LA court allowed the Sheriff’s Department to enter Soulja Boy’s home in Bell Canyon, California, where Kayla claimed he stored a yellow Mercedes Benz, a red Lamborghini, valuable jewelry, and large amounts of cash stacked in backpacks.

Earnings Highlights
In the year 2012, Soulja Boy’s earnings exceeded $7 million, securing his place as one of the Hip Hop Cash Kings.
The number 678-999-8212 from the track “Kiss Me thru the Phone,” featuring Sammie, is claimed by Soulja Boy to have generated him $100,000 monthly in the late 2000s. This 2008 single peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
Real Estate
Various reports have emerged over the years about Soulja Boy acquiring different properties in Los Angeles. For instance, reports in November 2016 stated that he bought a $6 million penthouse in Hollywood. However, it was later highlighted that the apartment was actually an Airbnb rental and listed for sale for $3.2 million at that time. According to our research into real estate filings, Soulja Boy has primarily rented mansions in LA over the last decade. In 2016, he was arrested at one of his rentals in the Hollywood Hills for allegedly violating the terms of a previous probation. Recent years saw him renting a mansion in Northridge, CA, for approximately $8,000 per month. Furthermore, he was renting a home in Malibu in early 2019 when an altercation led to an accusation by a woman claiming she was assaulted by him and his manager.
Previously, he owned a home near Atlanta in McDonough, Georgia. Records indicate that he acquired the 7,500-square-foot mansion for $330,000 in October 2008 and sold it for $132,000 in 2010.
