However, in June 2020, Microsoft declared it was closing Mixer and transitioning the platform to Facebook Gaming. Reportedly, Facebook offered Ninja and Shroud double their previous earnings with Microsoft to join them, which both declined. Consequently, Microsoft had to activate a buyout clause that meant Ninja received an estimated $30 million and Shroud $10 million to exit the contract. In August 2020, both gamers returned to Twitch.
